February Birchbox Review!

So the time has come for the February Birchbox to arrive! Well here it is!

First impressions... I absolutely love the boxes that the products come in .... its probably actually one of the main reasons I have subscribed to a monthly Birchbox. This months design was really dissapointig, I feel like the design is very basic and dated compared to past boxes I have recieved. As you can see below, compared to the amazing designs from past boxes, this months design was a let down for me, however everyone has different taste.

Now here is a breakdown of what was inside the box! :

(I love the products received in each box,but one thing I'm not a big fan of, is that everyone receives different products. Its never a standard... most products are the same in each box but some vary)

Product - Sebamed Antibacterial Cleansing Foam 50ml

Retail Price: £5.99 150ml

Now, I don't have much acne at all. I am actually trying this on as I am writing this. My first impressions - it smells AMAZING!!!! I absolutely love the smell, also for someone with very sensitive skin, I am not having any reaction to the foam at all and it is very gentle and not acidic unlike other pore cleansing products. After leaving the product on my face for 5 minutes and rinsing it off I have seen a considerable difference in my pores already! I definitely feel like my skin is toned, and it also makes my face feel very clean and soft. I actually wasn't expecting this from a foam formula, when washing the product off, it was almost like a moisturiser. Im not sure how effective this product is on acne,but it is definitely a great cleansing product and I will be including this in my cleansing routine from now on and definitley will be buying more!

Product - Percy Reed Finishing Polish 30ml

I absolutely love this product! Once again it smells lovely to start with. If your like me and don't know how to plait you own hair, so you have to get your mum to french plait it the night before, this product is a life saver! After sleeping with my hair in two french plaits and waking up with it looking super frizzy! I used some of this finishing polish to tame my hair and just neaten it up and I must say, It worked wonders! Ive used hairspray before to do this but my hair just ends up looking sticky and its just not great but this product has been amazing! Also how cute is the packaging!?!

Product - Luseta Coconut Milk Hair Mask 30ml

Retail Price: £26 500ml

All I can say is for the price of £26, I didn't think this product was amazing. Yes, it did leave my hair feeling soft, however I did not see much of a difference compared to my regular hair conditioning products. I do love the smell especially as it is coconut! However, this is not something I would purchase again.

Product - Mannakadar Beauty Bronzer Highlighter

Retail Price: £17

This highlighter is gloooowing! I was so not expecting this at all. I would definitely not use this as a bronzer as it is far too shimmery and I prefer my bronzer to be matte, but as a highlighter oh yes!!! I was definitely pleasantly surprised and can not wait to start using this every day!

Product: The Beauty Crop Love U so Latte Eyeshadow Trio

Retail Price: £7

This was my least favourite item from the box. I didn't feel as if the colours were pigmented at all and they were very difficult to blend. Even after applying multiple layers, the pigmentation just wasn't there. The matte brown was alright I guess but the shimmer shadows were just terrible. Unfortunately, I won't ever use this product.

Lastly - 10 FREE retro photo prints

For a person who loves photos.. (MEEE) this is perfect! I've ordered these polaroid style prints before and they are super cute! 10 prints normally come up to £9 at 0.90p each, so this is definitely a fantastic discount that birch box have included in this months box!

I would definitely recommend Birchbox to anyone who loves trying new beauty products all the time. At a very reasonable £10 a month its definitely worth it. You never know what your going to get exactly so there may be some months which you aren't as happy with the box but I guess its always exiting to find out what products you will get.
